Proposals:

Big Bay de Noc School District

Big Bay de Noc School Operating Millage Proposal 1

This proposal will allow the school district to levy the statutory rate of 18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, required for the school district to receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance.

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Big Bay de Noc School District, Delta and Schoolcraft Counties, Michigan, be increased by 18 mills ($18.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 10 years, 2010 to 2019, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes (17.6413 mills of the above is a renewal of millage which will expire with the 2009 tax levy and 0.3587 mill is a restoration of millage lost as a result of the reduction required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963); if approved, the estimate of the revenue to the school district will collect the first year of levy, 2010, is approximately $1,480,788?

Big Bay de Noc School Operating Millage Proposal 2

This proposal will enable the school district to continue to levy not more than  the statutory rate of 18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, required for the school district to receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance.

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Big Bay de Noc School District, Delta and Schoolcraft Counties, Michigan, be increased by 2 mills ($2.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 10 years, 2010 to 2019, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes; if approved, the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect the first year of levy is approximately $-0- (this millage is to restore millage lost as a result of the reduction required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963 and will be levied only to the extent necessary to restore that reduction)?

Cornell Township:

CORNELL TOWNSHIP MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL

Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitation on general ad valorem taxes within Cornell Township, Delta County, imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution, be renewed at 1 mill ($ 1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of 2010 to 2014 inclusive, for township operation?

The estimated revenue generated from the 1 mill that will be collected in the first year that the millage is authorized and levied will be $17,384.
