     A Committee of the Whole meeting of the Delta County Board of Commissioners was held this date, pursuant to the following call:

     A Committee of the Whole Meeting of the Delta County Board of Commissioners is scheduled for Tuesday March 27, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. in Conference Room 222 of the State Office Building.

ROLL CALL

PRESENT:  Commissioners Bengry, Elegeert, Rivard, and Ruohomaki.

EXCUSED:  Commissioner Schultz.

          The meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m. in the Conference Room 222 of the State Office Building by Committee Chairman Elegeert.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT:

 

     Joe Knauf, Delcomp Softek, addressed the Board with his concerns of hiring an “in-house” Information Technician.

     Nancy Kolich, County Clerk, addressed the Board in support of an Information Technician.

     Sandi Dagenais, Chief Deputy Clerk, addressed the Board in support of an Information Technician.

     Jodi Schwalbach, District Court Clerk, addressed the Board in support of an “in house” Information Technician.

     Carol Kinnart, Prosecuting Attorney Office Manager, addressed the Board in support of an Information Technician and stated that the Union was in favor as well.

 

 

 

 

              

VII. NEW BUSINESS

     1.  Information Technician.

         Moved by Commissioner Bengry and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to recommend that the Administrator proceed with determining the cost of hiring an Information Technician and where the funding source.  MOTION CARRIED.

     

     2.  Maintenance Director.

         Moved by Commissioner Bengry and seconded by Commissioner Rivard to recommend that the Personnel Committee meet to review the 40 applications received and that a background check would be conducted on the final candidate.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

          Moved by Commissioner Bengry and seconded by Commissioner Rivard to recommend posting a temporary full-time housekeeper position in compliance to the union contract.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

     3.  MERS Response re: Retiree Corrections.

         Moved by Commissioner Ruohomaki and seconded by Commissioner Bengry to recommend Option 1 – to leave all retirees as is and to make the necessary correction for future retirees.   MOTION CARRIED.

    

 

VIII. ADJOURNMENT

 

      Moved by Commissioner Bengry and supported by Commissioner Ruohomaki to adjourn at 3:15 p.m.
