Standing and Statutory Committees and the Reports of Special Committees and
Others be received and placed on file. MOTION CARRIED.
VIII. PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS
Circuit Court Judge Stephen T. Davis addressed
the Board with information supporting the need for a Courthouse Security
Officer.
Sue Cameron, Union Representative from AFSCME,
addressed the Board regarding the Special Conference which was scheduled for
this date. Moved by Commissioner Nelson
and seconded by Commissioner Bengry to add the AFSCME Special Conference to the
agenda. MOTION CARRIED unanimously.
IX. COMMITTEE
REPORTS:
1. Administrator’s
Report.

by Commissioner Ruohomaki and seconded by Commissioner Nelson to receive the Administrator’s
report and place on file. MOTION
CARRIED.
X. GENERAL ORDERS OF BUSINESS
A. UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Airport Resolution.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded
by Commissioner Ruohomaki to adopt the Airport Resolution as presented with the
addition to 2.(2) Two citizens for a term of 3 years, effective

2. Courthouse Security Officer.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded
by Commissioner Nelson to approve a full time Courthouse Security Officer with
budget amendments for funding to be made in January. MOTION CARRIED.
B. NEW
BUSINESS
1.
Payment of Bills.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded
by Commissioner Nelson to approve payment of the Commissioners expense vouchers. MOTION CARRIED.
2. Out of
Moved by Commissioner Ruohomaki and seconded
by Commissioner Schultz to approve out of county travel expenses for the
Commissioners to attend the Michigan Association of Counties legislative
conference in
3. Annual Investment Report.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and
seconded by Commissioner Nelson to receive the Annual Investment Report and
place on file. MOTION CARRIED.
4. Request from Sheriff to fund two
additional Sergeants.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded
by Commissioner Ruohomaki to refer to the next committee of the whole
meeting. MOTION CARRIED.
5. AFSCME Special Conference.
Moved by Commissioner Ruohomaki and
seconded by Commissioner Bengry to approve the accumulation of sick time over
172 days due to the removal of the cap for up to 3 employees affected by the
change in the contract of Articles 32 A & B. MOTION CARRIED.

GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
XII. COMMISSIONERS
CONCERNS
Commissioner
Ruohomaki: It is his understanding that there will be another committee of the
whole session with the Prosecuting Attorney with regard to his proposals. In the upcoming year, would like to continue
with one regular meeting and one committee of the whole meeting per month.
Commissioner
Bengry: Submitted his committee
requests, received a legal opinion regarding employees in the Prosecutor’s
office. Merry Christmas.
Commissioners Nelson: Thank
you to the citizens for allowing me to serve them for the last four years and
Merry Christmas.
Commissioner Schultz: Happy Holidays and
Merry Christmas.
Commissioner Elegeert: Thank you to Commissioner Nelson for his
service to the
