V. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS
None.
VII. NEW
BUSINESS
1. Special
Conference w/ AFSCME.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to
table until the next Committee of the Whole meeting. MOTION CARRIED.
2. Prosecutor
Steve Parks.
a. Prosecutor’s salary.
The issue is referred to a Committee of the
Whole Finance meeting.
b. Salary increase for Assistant
Prosecutor.
Moved by Commissioner Ruohomaki and seconded
by Commissioner Nelson to recommend that the salary for the Assistant
Prosecutor be increased to $45,000 per year with a committee to look into
additional salary. MOTION CARRIED.
c. Additional employee for
Prosecutor’s office.
No action on will be taken on this
issue at this time.
3. Sheriff Salary.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz
and seconded by Commissioner Nelson to recommend a Sheriff salary
increase of $5,000 for fiscal year 2006-07 and will look at another increase in
next year’s budget. MOTION CARRIED.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by
Commissioner Ruohomaki to recommend a special meeting with the Judges and the
State Court Administrator’s office as soon as possible. MOTION CARRIED.
5. Undersheriff Letter re: Additional Employee.
Moved by Commissioner Bengry and seconded by Commissioner Nelson to recommend
approval of hiring a Special Ops Deputy to be paid from snowmobile, marine and
extra patrol grants with the county funding the remaining $4500 from interest
on the road patrol millage. MOTION CARRIED.
6. Defined
Compensation.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded
by Commissioner Ruohomaki to recommend taking the next step toward defined
contribution for new employees. MOTION
CARRIED.
7. Ren-Zone
Per Diems.
Moved by Commissioner Ruohomaki and seconded by Commissioner Schultz to
recommend payment of the two per diems submitted by the Drain Commissioner for
attending Ren Zone meetings but not to pay future per diems to the Drain
Commissioner for attending Ren Zone meetings.
MOTION CARRIED.
8. MSU

9. Legal
Opinion Policy – D. Bengry.
Moved by Commissioner Bengry and seconded by Commissioner Nelson to
recommend his Legal Opinion Policy as presented.

approving the Pathways/Delta Menominee Public Health Rental Sublease Agreement

Update – Nancy Kolich.
Moved by Commissioner Bengry and seconded by Commissioner Nelson to
recommend adopting the Airport Resolution as presented.

13. Prosecutor’s Answer re: Treasurer’s
Attorney Fees.
The Board made their decision on
this issue several times and will remain with their decision.
14. Request from Road Commission re: Weighmaster.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to recommend
an Ad Hoc committee to explore this request and to set up a line item budget
showing the expenses and revenues.
MOTION CARRIED.
15. Loss Prevention Service Visit.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to
accept the Citizen’s Loss Prevention report as presented. MOTION CARRIED.
