seconded by Commissioner Nelson to accept the bid by Cooper Office Equipment
for $11,586. MOTION CARRIED.
2.c. Postage
Machine – Treasurer’s office.
Moved by Commissioner
Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Nelson to approve leasing a Hasler postage
machine for the Treasurer’s office for 4 years at a cost of approximately
$3,615 a year to be paid from the summer tax collection fund pending review of
the contract. MOTION CARRIED.
2.d. Court Reporters.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz and
seconded by Commissioner Nelson to approve no admission of wrongdoing by the
County Board or the Courts, going back ten years if under $8,000, non-precedent
setting, to settle the Court Reporters independent contracting with the Delta
County Courts tax and benefit issue.

by Commissioner Nelson to approve the letter of agreement with WPPA. MOTION CARRIED.
2.f. Memory Card Programming.

by Commissioner Ruohomaki to recommend a 2 year contract with the Cities and
Townships for programming of the memory cards for $150 per precinct per
election with the

legal fees incurred by Commissioner Nelson and Treasurer Sandy Buckland and to
recommend a policy for legal opinions for elected officials.

Budget and other issues.

by Commissioner Nelson to and cancel the October 3, 2006 meeting as there is a
statutory meeting on October 10. MOTION

4.
Cost of MICH-tax CD.
Moved by Commissioner Nelson and seconded
by Commissioner Bengry to approve a charge of $350 for Mich-Tax CD’s to the
public, as requested by the Equalization Department. MOTION CARRIED.
5. Birthday wishes for Mary Alice
Butler.
Moved by Commissioner Schultz
and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to send Mary Alice Butler, wife of
previous County Clerk William Butler, Birthday wishes for her 90th
birthday on September 17. MOTION

6.
Vote on Airport/Parks Issue.
Commissioner Bengry rescinds his
vote on the separation of the Airport and Parks Board and casts a no vote. Commissioner Nelson concurs and rescinds his
vote and casts a no vote.
XI. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT
Peter Mark addressed the Board with his concerns regarding governmental
immunity.
Airport Manager, Connie Ness, notified the Board that the UP Wilderness
Air Tour will be at the
Kaye Rowlands, AFSCME Chapter Chair, requested
clarification of the start date for the Equalization appraiser employee.
