     A Statutory meeting of the Delta County Board of Commissioners was held this date, pursuant to the following call:

     A Statutory Meeting of the Delta County Board of Commissioners is scheduled for Tuesday October 11, 2005, at 5:15 p.m. in the Circuit Courtroom of the Delta County Courthouse.

ROLL CALL

PRESENT:  Commissioners Elegeert, Nelson, Ruohomaki, and Schultz.

EXCUSED:  Commissioner Bengry.

     The meeting was called to order at 5:15 p.m. in the Delta County Circuit Courtroom by Delta County Clerk, Nancy Kolich.

 

   V.  APPROVAL OF BOARD MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING     

       Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to approve the minutes of the October 4, 2005 meeting. MOTION CARRIED.

 

  VI.  PRESENTATATION OF WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS

       A.  Received:  None.

       B.  Forwarded: None.

 

 VII.  REPORTS OF STANDING AND STATUTORY SPECIAL COMMITTEES AND OTHERS

       Moved by Commissioner Nelson and seconded by Commissioner Schultz that the Communications and Reports of Standing and Statutory Committees and the Reports of Special Committees and Others be received and placed on file.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

VII.    PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS

None.

         

   X.  COMMITTEE REPORTS:

1. Building and Grounds Committee.

4.   Administrator’s Report.

3.Request from the Delta County Central Dispatch                Authority.

         Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Nelson approve the Delta County Central Dispatch Authority to be covered temporarily under the County’s Liability Blanket Insurance Coverage with MMRMA at no additional cost to the County.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

         4. DEQ meeting in Lansing.

          Moved by Commissioner Ruohomaki and seconded by Commissioner Schultz to approve Chairman Elegeert to attend the DEQ meeting in Lansing on Thursday October 13 and approve payment of one night’s stay.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

         Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Nelson to receive the Administrator’s Report and place on file.

    1.  Payment of Bills.

         Moved by Commissioner Nelson and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to approve payment of the bills in the amount of $3,181,827.93.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

 

         

          2. 2005 Millage Rates.

 

          Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Nelson to approve the maximum millage rates allowed for 2005 as recommended by Equalization Director Rick Lindstrom.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

          3. 2005 Apportionment Report.

 

          Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to approve the 2005 Apportionment Report as presented by Equalization Director Lindstrom.  MOTION CARRIED.

 

          4.  Clear Vision Easement.

          Moved by Commissioner Nelson seconded by Commissioner Schultz to approve the Clear Vision Easement for Roland Equipment on M-35 as presented.  MOTION CARRIED.

        

          5.  Board Appointments.

          Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Nelson to re-appoint Sharon Niebauer to the DATA Board and Charles Lawson to the Plumbing Board of Appeals.

Commissioner Ruohomaki – Appreciated the Daily Press and                       TV6 coverage of the DEQ issue.

 

      Commissioner Schultz - None

 

Commissioner Elegeert – Trying to fix the DEQ problem for     the whole Ren Zone.
