            A Statutory meeting of the Delta County Board of Commissioners was held this date pursuant to the following call:

ROLL CALL

 

PRESENT:  Commissioners Bengry, Schultz and Ruohomaki

 

Excused absence:  Commissioners Nelson and Elegeert

 

V.                 APPROVAL OF BOARD MINUTES OF 4/5/2005

 

Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to approve minutes.    Commissioner Ruohomaki pointed out that his name was misspelled in the minutes.  Motion Carried.

 

VI.              PRESENTATION OF WRITTEN COMMUNICATION

 

Moved by Commissioner Schultz and seconded by Commissioner Ruohomaki to accept communications be received and placed on file.

 

   VII.       REPORTS OF STANDING, STAUTORY, SPECIAL COMMITTEES

 

                  None

 

   VIII.       PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS

 

      Joel Erickson was concerned about the Stumpage that was cleared out at    

       Sylvan Point.

Jean Paul Rudell, President of the Attorney Association thanked the board for

going 50/50 on the portraits of the judges.

 

            COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

1.      Building & Grounds Committee – None

2.      Finance Committee- None

3.      Personnel Committee-None

4.      Administrator’s Report

   Joe Erickson met with FEMA, they told him they will need more assistance with all the prices rising, and Joe said that we would try to assist them as much as possible.  No action was taken.

                          5.  Renzone Report - None

 

X.   NEW BUSINESS

 

1.      Payment of Bills- None

2.      Equalization Report-

  Commissioner Schultz moved and Ruohomaki seconded to accept

  Equalization Report.  Motion Carried.

3.      DTE/Michcom Tax Appeal

  Commissioner Ruohomaki moved and Schultz seconded to hire

   Attorney Bergman not to exceed $3000.00  Motion Carried.

                      4.   Audit Report

  Commissioner Ruohomaki moved and Schultz seconded to table Audit

  Report until next meeting.  Motion Carried.

 

 X1.   GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT  - None

 

  X11.   COMMISSIONER’S CONCERNS

 

            Ruohomaki would like to discuss providing contracts for non union employees.

 

            Commissioner Schultz moved to Adjourn and Commission Ruohomaki  seconded, meeting was adjourned at 5:30 P.M.
